Online Classes Once Again!

Due to the pandemic situation, online classes re-started. The initial hour was engaged by our dear Meekha ma'am. Athira presented her seminar on Reading and Reflection, Enmakaje by Ambikasuthan Mangad. It was a wonderful presentation which made us enter the world of fantasy. Next, we had a presentation by Arsha on Language Teacher Competencies. She did a good job. The second session was taken by Gibi ma'am. We discussed the various Schools of Psychology - Structuralism, Functionalism, Psychoanalytic school. The last session was taken by Maya ma'am. We discussed about Idealism - Characteristics and Limitations. Thus, the class came to an end. 

Bidding Adieu

The day began with Ancy ma'am's class on Erickson's Theory of Psycho-Social Development. The class was an interactive one with a Q&A session ,  despite the absence of many students. She also taught about the Early Childhood Stage of Development  in detail. The next session was taken by Sathyalekha ma'am who shared her valuable experiences with us. After the lunch break, Joju sir taught us about the Effectiveness Indicators of a Classroom. The final event of the day was all about giving thanks to the effort of the teachers from G.C.T.E. Thycaud. They gave us feedback on their days at MTTC and departed. They will be missed for sure and would always remain in our prayers. 

Recommencement of Offline Classes

After a brief session of online classes, we came back to our college. The day started afresh with Maya ma'am's class on Idealism and its Educational Implications. The second hour was our optional class by Sathyalekha ma'am. We chose the representatives for our College Union. Sr. Jomcy presented her seminar on several approaches of teaching. The next session was taken by Gibi ma'am who discussed about teaching variables, home environment etc. The final session was taken by George sir. We checked our heights and weights to complete the personal health chart. Thus, the classes ended for the day.

Let's start the day!

The first session was taken by George sir who taught us in detail about a Personal Health Chart. It was a moment of revelation about our own health to most of us! After a lunch break, Sathyalekha ma'am discussed about Micro-teaching. It was an informative session. In the last session, Benedict sir discussed about the  Phases of Teaching, Basic Teaching Model. 

E-learning

The initial hour was taken by Maya ma'am. She taught us the different Schools of Philosophy. As always her class remained engaging and informative. The next session was taken by Gibi ma'am. She discussed about the inclusion of cognition in Psychology by Bruner, Piaget and Gagne. The last session was taken by Sathyalekha ma'am who discussed about the various teaching skills. 

Keep pushing...

The initial class was by the very cheerful Revathy ma'am. We discussed about Podcasting, Web-Based Learning. The session came to a close after we shared our feedbacks on her earlier sessions. The second session was taken by Shabana ma'am who elaborated on the topic, National Integration. She also emphasized the need to include programmes promoting national integration in educational and non - educational institutions as well. The final session was taken by our Sathyalekha ma'am. She continued the topic from last class, Erickson's Theory of Psycho-Social Development. A productive day, thus ended.

Next Day...

In the first session by Sathyalekha ma'am,  Erickson's Theory of  Psycho-Social Development was dealt with in detail. The next session was engaged by Meekha ma'am who talked about Lesson Plan. Nandana presented a very informative seminar on Teaching Prose: Reading. In the last session we had Dona ma'am's class on Emotional Intelligence. Thus, the online sessions for the day came to a close.

A fresh day, a fresh start. Maya ma'am taught us about the Philosophical Perspectives of Curriculum.  We also discussed about Metaphysics, Axiology and Epistemology.  The second session was engaged by Revathy ma'am. We discussed about Computer Simulations, Blended Learning and Flipped Classroom. It was an informative session. The last session was our dear Meekha ma'am's. Veena presented an awesome seminar on Gra mmar Translation Method.

Up, Up and Away!!!

The initial class was engaged by Sathyalekha ma'am. The class began with a prayer by Fr. Sujith. We discussed about the Components for Effective Classroom Communication. The second session was by Gibi ma'am which started with a prayer by Jeena. As always, Gibi ma'am made the class really interesting. We discussed about Id, Ego and Super Ego. Also we learned about the importance of Mm.. Mm.. Therapy  in Couple's Counseling and our lives as well.  The last session was the optional by our dear Meekha ma'am. We discussed about the various types of plans their advantages in the teaching scenario.

Online Classes Begin...

Taking into consideration the rising Covid cases in the city, we shifted our academic endeavours to the online world. The first online session was my initial experience as well! Except for the webinars I've attended, I have not signed up for any online classes before and, to be honest, it was quite interesting. The class began with Dona ma'am continuing from where we left off, I ntelligence Tests. Next we had our optional class by Meekha ma'am where we discussed about Planning. It was an informative session. The last class for the day was taken by Shabana ma'am. She talked about the Life History of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan and His Views on Education. The online classes came to a close for the day.

A Great Start!!!

Today was auspicious because our beloved friends from Natural Science optional conducted their initial assembly. The day was also special being the International Youth Day. The assembly was a huge hit with several programmes including prayer, thought for the day and their official logo release. After the assembly, we had our optional class by Sathyalekha ma'am. Vivek and Athira presented their seminar topics with ease and expertise. Later we had a discussion session guided by Shabana ma'am about The Role of Society in Education. The last session was taken by Dona ma'am where we discussed about Intelligence Tests. Thus concluded a fruitful day. 

Theories all the way...

In the morning optional hour, Sathyalekha ma'am taught us Behaviourism and its characteristics. Later, we had Dona ma'am's class on Guilford Theory. The next session was taken by Revathy ma'am who elaborated on CMC and its characteristics. Later, our dear Sathyalekha ma'am continued from last class and discussed about the Barriers of Classroom Communication. The day was quite productive, to be honest.

It's a New Day!!!

The morning session was taken by our beloved Sathyalekha ma'am. After a brief period of recollection, we moved forward with topics including the Behaviourist Theory. The next informative session was taken by Revathy ma'am who discussed about CMI and its characteristics. Later sessions were taken by Dona ma'am, Sathyalekha ma'am and Shabana ma'am. Dona ma'am gave us an insight into the Group Factor Theory. Sathyalekha ma'am taught us about Effective Classroom Communication. Shabana ma'am's class was much more relaxing as Aami sang for us. Thus, the brain wars came to an end for the day...

Arts and Theatre, Here We Come!!!

The day began peacefully with an invocation to the Almighty. Our dear Sathyalekha ma'am took the initial session and we discussed about Language Acquisition Device (LAD). Then, we were introduced to the magical world of Theatre by Reju sir. Each and every person revelled in happiness as the hours flew by. Even though the parting seemed disappointing, the knowledge gained in the previous hours made us content. The afternoon sessions were handled by the M.Ed. interns and they, as usual, made the hours worth it.

Starting the Marathon

The day began with a Yoga class led by Stephen sir. We discussed about reflexology, did certain yoga poses including Padmasana and Bhujangasana. It was fun to watch others and do it myself! The next session was taken by Miss Revathy, an M.Ed. intern from G.C.T.E., Thycaud. It was an informative class about Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI), the important elements of CAI etc. The next hour was engaged by the M.Ed. intern from G.C.T.E., Thycaud, Miss Sathyalekha. After a brief introductory session, we discussed the Theory of Multiple Intelligences proposed by Howard Gardener. The interactive session made all of us happy and satisfied.  The afternoon sessions were taken by the M.Ed. interns and all were useful and engaging sessions.

Moving on...

Today started as usual with a prayer. The initial session was taken by Maya ma'am. We discussed about the appropriate strategies used for teaching, the importance of a paradigm shift.etc. The hour ended with the need of practicing auto - suggestion in our lives. It was quite motivating.  Gibi ma'am was welcomed by two songs sung by five of us, thereby creating a jolly mood for everyone. Then, we discussed about learner-centred education, the formulation of learning materials and the maxims of teaching. Later, our Principal, K. Y. Benedict sir introduced the four M.Ed. interns from G.C.T.E., Thycaud. All of us welcomed them will applauses and smiles.  The final session was taken by Ancy ma'am. She taught us the Stages of Development and discussed about the five main aspects of development during infancy in detail.

College Re-opens!!

With the end of the Christmas holidays, we have restarted our journey as prospective teachers. The initial session was our optional class was Meekha ma'am. We discussed in detail about the Pedagogic Content Analysis of SCERT text books (8,9,10) in groups. The next session was engaged by Joju sir. He started the class with a prayer to the new year of 2022. We discussed about the basics of e - content and were assigned to create an e - content on our own.  The last hours were dealt by Maya ma'am. We discussed about the various teacher competencies, qualities etc. It was an engaging session with lots to reflect upon.
