Joy to the World 🎊

Image
We had a blast before the onset of the Christmas holidays. The entire college was revelling in the celebratory mood. The first year and second year students came up with several programmes to make the day a memorable one. The English optional bought a Butterscotch cake to have a celebration of our own. The grand culmination of events was when all of us stepped to the rhythm of random songs. The physical exhaustion didn't stop us from taking a few clicks after the final showdown!! I hope everyone gets to enjoy the holidays despite the works that need to be completed...

Being Studious...

Image
The day started with the assembly conducted by the first year students of Mathematics Association. It was a refreshing experience including a mini quiz session and the official logo release of their association  Dyuthi.  The assembly dispersed after a small motivational talk by Joju sir.  Then, we had our optional class by Meekha ma'am. We continued our discussion from Monday on the positive and negative qualities of a teacher we came across. Later we had Maya ma'am's class where we discussed more on the Qualities and Competencies of a Teacher. Next, Ancy ma'am engaged us with the Principles of Development, after a brief question-answer session. Finally, many of us had to go for Carol practice as a part of the Christmas celebration.

Racking Our Brains!

Image
Today we began by a discussion on the  Misuse of Technology and The Preventive Measures We Can Adopt as Teachers, instructed by Joju sir. Everyone contributed valuable points and it was an engaging session. Later, we discussed The Qualities and Competencies of a Teacher like IQ, EQ and SQ,   in Maya ma'am's class. We moved to our own classes for the optional hour. We had fun making a Christmas card as part of a competition. The unity of our group is what makes the entire process worth remembering. The last session was by Joju sir. He made us aware of the art of videography and discussed about some basic necessities of creating a video.

Into Academics

The day felt really slow since we haven't got out the weekend from our heads. The initial session was our optional by Meekha ma'am. We shared our experiences regarding a good teacher and a bad teacher. It was a moment of catharsis to many of us and I greatly appreciate the support provided by our beloved mentor and friends.  Next, we had a session by Joju sir. Despite the fact that he continually took two sessions before ours, he was able to make the class an interesting and informative one. We discussed about Technology in Education and Technology of Education. Also, we got our assignment topics.  Thus, the day ended with an anticipation for the upcoming holidays.

New Schedule

Today the first session was our optional class by Meekha ma'am. She gave us an exercise to write about our favourite teacher and a teacher whom we dislike. Later we discussed the do's and don'ts of teaching. Then we had Maya ma'am's class. We wrote about the strengths and challenges of teaching. Also, we wrote a feedback on our learning experience.  Finally, we had Joju sir's hour. We discussed the Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology and the differences between hardware and software technologies.

NAAC Visit - Day 2

Image
The day started with an assembly conducted by the Union members. We gathered in our general class and had a lot of fun. In between there was a formal photo session with our seniors and also with our own classmates. The English students had a photo session of our own where we tried our best to pose like professionals!!  I and Keerthi had the opportunity to sing the Madhyasthayi varisas along with our Aesthetics mentor Miss Lekshmi. Bharath and Vimal accompanied us. We had a great time.

NAAC Visit - Day 1

Image
The day felt like a ticking bomb waiting to explode any moment. The college along with all its staff and students came prepared to meet their combined 'fate'. All the students wore uniform sarees according to their respective optionals.  The initial session was yoga, where we discussed about certain asanas and the importance of yogic practice. Then Maya ma'am gave us a task, namely, to find out the major characteristics required for aspiring teachers/ teachers. Later, Shafi sir gave us a brief intro on the Theories of Development. There was also we brief Aerobics session in the Basketball Court. It was too hilarious as we struggled to get the steps right with our sarees on! The greatest hit of the day was the cultural programmes presented by the students of our college. It was also special because two of our classmates, Drishya and Anagha were part of it. The NAAC peer team was very much impressed with the performances and wished all of us a bright future. The day concluded

The Day Before

Image
Today was a productive day. We were able to complete our class beautification works with the help from our seniors. Our beloved Meekha ma'am was also impressed with our class which turned into an elegant home. It's our hardwork and consistency that finally made the day a memorable one. I hope that we would stay connected like this always.

NAAC visit preparations

The day was a never-ending array of preparations for the upcoming NAAC visit. Classroom decorations, cultural programme practices, lunch breaks, etc. made the day an energetic one. All the students, teaching and non-teaching staff are on the run to make our college one of the best in India. Hope to see a positive result after all the hard work.

Charity soothes the soul

We made a visit to Santhi Mandiram at Vattapara. The inmates and the caretakers were really co-operative and happy about our concern towards them. We conducted several programmes to entertain them and bid them farewell with good wishes. The first year B.Ed. Natural Science and Physical Science students, rocked the stage on the last day of the Talent Hunt.

Aliferous

Image
The morning was made special by the initial assembly conducted by the first year B.Ed. English students. The function was more awe inspiring as we unfurled our association's name, "Aliferous" and its official logo. The assembly was a huge success not only because it was well-organized but also since all of us came together to make it happen. The first session was our optional class by Meekha ma'am. Then we had Ancy ma'am's class. We revised certain points from Technology section and moved on to the Psychology section about Growth and Development. Then we had a brief NAAC mock visit session. Finally, we went to our own classes.

Education and Fun

Image
In the morning, Gibi ma'am engaged us with the nuances of Educational Psychology, after a brief revision. We discussed the variables of learning and even had a mini debate session. Later, Elizabeth ma'am taught us the different types of flower arrangements. She even gave a demo which was quite useful.  Then we had a short optional class by Meekha ma'am. The grand finale was the Aerobics class led by Miss Sreedevi. All of us enjoyed a lot.

Talent Hunt continues...

Image
Today the initial session was taken by Maya ma'am. We discussed the functions of education in detail. After this, we had Shafi sir. He emphasized the need to set a timetable for ourselves and create realistic goals for a better future.  The afternoon sessions saw the blooming talents of first year Malayalam and Social Science students. The stage was all theirs. A variety of programmes including a mime, a mono-act, musical renditions and dance performances, made the hours auspicious. The vibe associated with this was so amazing that even the audience became part of the stage.

Studies and Fun

Today the initial session was taken by Dr. Archana. We discussed about psychology, educational psychology, the various schools of psychology etc. It was an informative session. The afternoon sessions were for the Talent Hunt programmes conducted by the first year students of B.Ed. English and Maths. The audience supported both the groups with utmost sincerity. All of us had a blast, both on and off the stage. It was one-of-a-kind experience with some people you would always remember in your life.
